The Morning Rush

On Monday's Rush, Tony C talks about his excitement Saturday watching the Pirates and Indians play an exhibition game in Pittsburgh.

Tony also discusses the Blue Jays looking for a place to play, and NFL players tell the league to take the advice of experts when it comes to health and safety.

Jordan Nicewarner (@DatDudeNice) takes his usual seat in studio for the final two hours of the show. The guys talk about their hesitation to get excited about the start of any sports ... and also their hesitation to get out in public in the middle of a pandemic.

Tony and Jordan also talk about having to play against "Mr. Sweaty" on the basketball court, and they listen to and react to Jeremy Schaap's one-on-one interview with former Washington Redskins employee Emily Applegate.

On Friday's Rush, Tony C discusses The Washington Post story that dropped Thursday afternoon, detailing alleged sexual harassment and verbal abuse towards 15 former female employees of the Redskins.

Tony wonders what is next for the Washington NFL franchise (Punishment? Will Snyder sell the team?), and also wonders why it took so long for this story to surface.

Also, Tiger Woods makes his return to the PGA Tour at the Memorial at Muirfield Village, and we have another Rush Friday Feature with Joe Shuta. In today's feature, Joe catches up with former baseball player Dave Bresnahan, who talks about his infamous "potato play" in the minors.

On Wednesday’s Rush, we have more fallout and reaction from Washington retiring the Redskins nickname, and we hear from of one of the most famous Redskins: Joe Theismann.

We also hear from Tiger Woods, who will return to the PGA Tour this week for the Memorial Tournament after a 5-month layoff.

Tony C discusses more postponements of fall sports among the Division II and NJCAA ranks. Tony also wants the Class of 2021 to have some sort of memories from their last year of high school.

After a caller asks about the team's logo, Tony gives the history behind the logo that's been on the side of the Washington helmet since 1972.

Tony goes over some football rules changes, requirements, and recommendations from the WVSSAC, and he responds to a tweet by Mineral County Schools Superintendent Troy Ravenscroft.

And another college conference cancels fall sports.

On Monday's Rush, Tony C returns from a 10-day layoff to discuss the decision by the Washington Redskins to retire the nickname under social -- and financial -- pressure.

Jordan Nicewarner (@DatDudeNice) takes his usual seat in studio to talk about the name change, and the guys wonder what the new name will be. They also give their personal opinions on the name change and how it affects them ... or doesn't.

The guys also talk about Patrick Mahomes' massive new contract, and a very exciting finish to this weekend's PGA Tour event at Muirfield Village that nobody saw.

On Wednesday's Rush, on the brink of some extended time off, Tony C wonders what direction sports will be headed when he returns, and how much the coronavirus will have to do with it.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is confident the Orlando bubble will work, but is very aware nothing is guaranteed.

Redskins head coach Ron Rivera says he won't bet against Cam Newton in New England, although some don't share the same opinion.

And should Major League Baseball remove Kenesaw Mountain Landis's name from the NL and AL MVP trophies?

On Tuesday's Rush, Tony C tries to make heads or tails of the current situation in sports ... Will there be seasons? Will seasons be finished? Should be there even be seasons? 

Four Major League Baseball players opt out of the shortened 2020 season, including two from the defending champion Nationals ... and Tony doesn't blame them one bit.

Tony also says the NBA's season in the Orlando bubble will not be for the "stick to sports" crowd, and will Cam Newton and Bill Belichick really work out in New England?

Tony remembers the career of long-time NFL coach Joe Bugel, who passed away over the weekend. Bugel was the architect of the famed "Hogs" offensive line in Washington.

Tony and Jordan question the need for players to post their workouts online, which leads to both guys sharing their growing disdain for social media.

And the guys give their thoughts on the NBA potentially allowing players to remove their names from their jerseys and replace them with messages of social justice.

On Friday’s Rush, NASCAR concludes its investigation into the noose at Talladega, and defends its handling of the situation. So where does NASCAR go from here?
